Rosso Piceno is a prestigious Denominazione di Origine Controllata (DOC) red wine hailing from the Marche region in central Italy. Established as a protected designation in 1968, it represents one of the largest and most historic wine zones in the region. The wine is primarily crafted from a blend of Montepulciano and Sangiovese grapes, reflecting the authentic viticultural heritage of the Adriatic coast.

Because Rosso Piceno is a geographical designation (DOC) rather than a single corporate brand, it is produced by numerous independent wineries and estates across the provinces of Ancona, Macerata, and Ascoli Piceno. Ownership is decentralized, consisting of various family-owned vineyards and agricultural cooperatives. Each producer must adhere to strict Italian and EU regulations regarding grape composition, alcohol levels, and aging processes to carry the Rosso Piceno name, ensuring the product's origin and quality remain tied to the Italian soil.
