Osram LED E27 Light Bulb

Osram is a historic lighting brand with roots stretching back to early 20th-century Germany. Originally established as a joint venture between Siemens & Halske and other industrial entities, it became a global leader in light sources. In recent years, the brand's ownership has undergone significant structural changes.

While Osram Licht AG was acquired by the Austrian sensor and semiconductor specialist ams AG in 2020, the consumer lighting business (including the light bulbs seen in households) was previously carved out into a separate entity called LEDVANCE. LEDVANCE was subsequently acquired by a Chinese consortium led by MLS Co., Ltd. Consequently, while the brand remains quintessentially German in its engineering heritage, the lamps are now produced globally, primarily in China, as part of the LEDVANCE portfolio.
