Totino's is an iconic American brand known for its frozen pizza products and world-famous Pizza Rolls. The brand began as Totino's Italian Kitchen, a family-owned pizzeria opened by Rose and Jim Totino in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1951. Due to the high demand for their recipes, the family expanded into the frozen pizza business in 1962, becoming the first nationally distributed frozen pizza in the United States.
The brand's most famous product, the Pizza Roll, was actually invented by Jeno Paulucci (under the brand Jeno's) in the late 1960s based on the concept of a Chinese egg roll filled with pizza ingredients. Pillsbury eventually acquired both Jeno's and Totino's, merging the products under the Totino's name. Today, the brand is a major player in the global frozen food market, with main manufacturing facilities located in Wellston, Ohio.
Since 2001, Totino's has been a core brand under the General Mills portfolio. General Mills has continued to innovate with the brand, expanding into breakfast snack bites and ramen collaborations, maintaining its status as a staple in American household freezers.
