Jos Louis is one of Canada's most recognizable snack cakes, famous for its red velvet sponge cake filled with cream and coated in a chocolatey shell. First created in 1932, the product was named after two of the Vachon sons, Joseph and Louis, though it is often mistakenly associated with the boxer Joe Louis.

The brand has deep roots in Sainte-Marie, Quebec, where the Vachon family began their bakery business in 1923. Today, Jos Louis cakes continue to be manufactured primarily in Canada, maintaining their status as a staple of French-Canadian culinary culture.

While the Vachon brand was a family-run enterprise for decades, it is currently owned by Bimbo Canada, a subsidiary of the Mexican multinational Grupo Bimbo. Grupo Bimbo is the largest bakery company in the world, having acquired the brand through the purchase of Saputo's bakery division in 2015.
