Haust is a historic Dutch brand with roots dating back to 1870, originally established as a bakery by the Haust family in Amsterdam. Over the decades, the brand became a staple in the Netherlands, particularly famous for its high-quality toast, crackers, and 'beschuit' (Dutch rusk). The Party Extra Fyne Tuinkruiden variety shown here is a seasoned herb cracker popular for appetizers and snacking.
While the brand was independently run for generations, it eventually became part of the broader food manufacturing landscape. Today, Haust is owned by Continental Bakeries, which is a major European player in the private label and branded bakery market. In 2022, Continental Bakeries was acquired by the Biscuit International group, a leading European manufacturer of biscuits and bread substitutes. The manufacturing for Haust products typically remains within the Netherlands or neighboring European facilities under the Biscuit International network.
