The brand is named after the heiress of the Codorníu family who married Miquel Raventós in 1659, uniting two major viticultural dynasties. This specific Cava is notable for being the first to incorporate the Chardonnay grape variety into its blend, which provides a unique aromatic profile and freshness.

The product is manufactured in the Penedès region of Spain, specifically in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, where the historic Codorníu cellars (a National Historic-Artistic Monument) are located. The brand is currently owned by the Raventós Codorníu Group, which is controlled by the American private equity firm Carlyle Group. Despite the change in ownership, the production remains deeply rooted in traditional Spanish Cava-making methods.
