The water is sourced from the Bismarck-Quelle in Aumühle, situated in the Sachsenwald forest near Hamburg. Originally part of the Bismarck family estate, the brand's commercial rights have changed hands over the decades. Today, the brand is owned by the Hansa-Heemann AG, which is one of Germany's leading mineral water and soft drink producers. Hansa-Heemann itself became part of the Dutch Refresco Group in 2021, marking a significant consolidation in the European beverage industry. The manufacturing and bottling remain centered in Germany to preserve the source-specific mineral properties.
