Alpa is an iconic Czech brand with a legacy stretching back over a century. The brand's history began in 1913 in Brno, then part of Austria-Hungary, where it was founded by Josef Veselý. Initially famous for its alcoholic herbal extract (Francovka), the brand evolved into a staple of Central European medicine cabinets, known for treating muscle pain, fatigue, and various ailments with its unique blend of essential oils and menthol.
The product shown is a specialized massage emulsion designed for post-exercise recovery, utilizing cooling ingredients like menthol and herbal extracts to soothe tired muscles. Alpa has maintained its heritage by keeping production firmly rooted in the Czech Republic, specifically at its facility in Velké Meziříčí, where it has operated since the mid-20th century.
Today, Alpa remains a privately held Czech company (Alpa, a.s.). It has successfully transitioned from a regional traditional remedy into a modern health and sports care brand, exporting its products to numerous international markets while maintaining its status as a household name in its country of origin.
