The Boston brand of lens care solutions was originally developed by the Boston Polymer Group in the United States, revolutionizing the care for rigid gas permeable (RGP) contact lenses. Today, it is a leading name in the specialized eye care market, providing cleaning and conditioning solutions for hard lens wearers worldwide.

The brand's ownership has transitioned through major pharmaceutical players, eventually becoming part of Bausch + Lomb. In 2013, Bausch + Lomb was acquired by Valeant Pharmaceuticals (now Bausch Health Companies Inc.), but the eye care division was later spun off as a separate publicly traded entity, Bausch + Lomb Corporation.

Manufacturing for Boston products occurs in several high-tech facilities globally. A significant portion of the production for the European and global markets is handled at Bausch + Lomb’s major manufacturing site in Waterford, Ireland, while specific batches are also produced in the United States to meet regional demand.
