Ovaltine Original Light drink

Ovaltine, originally known as Ovomaltine, is a world-renowned brand of milk flavoring supplement made with malt extract, sugar, and whey. It was first developed in 1904 by chemist Albert Wander in Bern, Switzerland. The name was derived from 'ovum', the Latin word for egg, and 'malt', which were its key ingredients. In terms of ownership, the brand has a fragmented history. The Swiss operations and international rights were acquired by Associated British Foods (ABF) from Novartis in 2002, except in the United States, where the brand is owned and manufactured by Nestlé. Today, for many global markets including the United Kingdom, Ovaltine is managed by Twinings, a subsidiary of Associated British Foods. Manufacturing takes place in several locations globally to serve local markets, including major facilities in Thailand, Switzerland, and the Philippines.
