KiMs Peanuts are a staple of the Danish snack market, produced by the country's leading chips and snacks manufacturer. The product shown consists of roasted and salted peanuts, which are part of a brand history that dates back to the early 1960s.
While the raw peanuts are typically sourced internationally from major producers like the United States to ensure high quality, the final processing—including roasting and salting—takes place in Denmark. Specifically, KiMs operates a major production facility in Søndersø on the island of Funen (Fyn), which has been the brand's home since 1971.
Originally founded by a Danish marzipan factory to diversify their seasonal business, the brand transitioned from the name 'KiM' to 'KiMs' in 1965. Since 1991, the brand has been under the ownership of the Norwegian conglomerate Orkla Group. It is currently managed by Orkla Confectionery & Snacks Danmark, maintaining its position as a dominant local brand with deep roots in Danish food culture.
