Orville Redenbacher’s is one of the most recognized popcorn brands in the world, renowned for its commitment to high-quality snacking. The brand was founded in Valparaiso, Indiana, by Orville Redenbacher and his business partner Charles Bowman. After spending decades cross-breeding thousands of hybrid strains, they perfected a 'gourmet' kernel that popped larger and lighter than existing varieties, launching the brand as RedBow in 1970 before it was rebranded under Orville's own name.

Today, the brand's popcorn is primarily grown and processed in the United States, keeping close to its Midwestern agricultural roots. This specific product features the signature plastic jar containing unpopped 'Original' kernels, marketed for stovetop or air-popper preparation.

Ownership of the brand has transitioned through several major corporate hands over the decades. It was acquired by Hunt-Wesson in 1976, which later became part of Beatrice Foods. In 1990, the brand was purchased by Conagra Brands (then ConAgra Foods). As of 2024 and looking toward the future, Conagra Brands remains the ultimate owner, managing the brand as part of its extensive grocery and snack portfolio from its headquarters in Chicago, Illinois.
