Haribo Tagada is one of the most iconic confectionery products in Europe, particularly in France where it was first developed. These strawberry-shaped marshmallows are coated in a fine red sugar, providing a unique texture that is soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. The product is a staple of the Haribo brand, which has grown from a small family business into a global confectionery powerhouse.

Originally founded in Germany in 1920 by Hans Riegel, Haribo (an acronym for Hans Riegel Bonn) eventually expanded its operations across the globe. The Tagada line specifically was invented by the French subsidiary of Haribo in Marseille in 1969. Today, Haribo remains a family-owned enterprise, with the third generation of the Riegel family continuing to manage its vast portfolio of gummies, marshmallows, and licorice products from its headquarters in Grafschaft, Germany.
