Sperlari is one of Italy's most iconic confectionery brands, founded in 1836 by Enea Sperlari in Cremona. Famous for its traditional torrone (nougat) and fruit-flavored candies, the brand has become a symbol of Italian holiday tradition and quality confectionery. These 'Le Gemme' jellies are soft, fruit-assorted treats that continue the brand's long-standing heritage of artisanal quality.
While the brand originated as a family-run shop in Cremona, it has undergone several ownership changes over the decades, being part of larger groups such as H.J. Heinz and Cloetta. Since 2017, Sperlari has been owned by the Katjes Group, a German family-owned confectionery giant. Despite the German ownership, manufacturing remains heavily focused in Italy, particularly at its historical production sites in Cremona, Gordona, and San Pietro in Casale, preserving the brand's authentic Italian identity.
