Founded in 1860 in Novi Ligure, Piedmont, by Stefano Pernigotti, the company achieved significant fame as an official purveyor to the Italian Royal Family. The packaging shown features the classic 'Torrone Morbido' (soft nougat with almonds), a staple of Italian confectionery tradition.

While the brand faced several ownership changes in recent years, including an acquisition by the Toksöz Group in 2013, it was eventually acquired by the investment group Lynwood (JP Morgan) in 2022.
