Chiemsee is an iconic boardsports and lifestyle brand founded in 1982 by brothers Martin and Christoph Imdahl in Grabenstätt, near Lake Chiemsee in Bavaria, Germany. Originally focused on windsurfing gear and apparel, the brand became famous for its vibrant designs and professional team riders. Over the decades, it expanded into snowboarding and general streetwear, becoming a staple of European beach and mountain culture.

After several changes in ownership, including a period under Schiesser, the brand was acquired by the Schmidt Group (Karl-Heinz Schmidt) and eventually integrated under the umbrella of the specialty retailer and licensee group, Chiemsee GmbH & Co. KG. Today, the brand's production is outsourced to various global manufacturers, common for international apparel retailers, while maintaining its design roots in Germany. It remains a significant name in the 'Bavarian Sea' inspired outdoor fashion market.
