Deepin Linux Operating System

Deepin is a highly regarded open-source Linux distribution known for its elegant Deepin Desktop Environment (DDE) and custom user interface. Originally developed as a community project, it has grown into a sophisticated operating system that serves as the foundation for the Unity Operating System (UOS) used across various sectors in China.

The project is spearheaded by Wuhan Deepin Technology, which focuses on providing a user-friendly alternative to traditional operating systems by developing proprietary-style applications and a polished aesthetic. While it is built on the Debian stable branch, much of its unique value comes from its self-developed Desktop Toolkit (DTK) and its comprehensive suite of built-in applications designed for both productivity and entertainment.

Today, Deepin is owned by UnionTech, a company established to consolidate domestic operating system development in China. This ownership provides the financial and technical backing necessary to integrate advanced features like UOS AI and extensive application store support, making it a key player in the global open-source software landscape.
