Pagani Automobili is a premier Italian manufacturer of hypercars and carbon fiber components. The brand was founded in 1992 by Horacio Pagani, an Argentine-Italian engineer who previously managed Lamborghini's composites department. This background in advanced materials laid the foundation for Pagani's reputation for extreme lightweight engineering and artisanal craftsmanship.
Every Pagani vehicle is hand-assembled in San Cesario sul Panaro, near Modena, Italy, within the heart of the 'Motor Valley.' The company is renowned for its bespoke approach, treating each vehicle as a functional work of art. While the engines are specialized V12 units developed specifically for Pagani by Mercedes-AMG in Germany, the vehicle design, chassis construction using proprietary Carbo-Titanium, and final assembly remain strictly Italian.
Ownership of Pagani remains largely private and family-controlled. However, in 2021, the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund (PIF) acquired a significant minority stake in the company to support long-term growth and technological expansion. Despite this investment, Horacio Pagani continues to lead the company's creative and strategic vision from its Italian headquarters.
