Stoic is a private-label outdoor brand specifically created by the e-commerce giant Backcountry.com. Launched to provide high-performance outdoor gear at a more accessible price point compared to heritage technical brands, Stoic specializes in functional apparel, camping gear, and seasonal equipment for hiking and mountaineering.

The brand was developed in the United States by the Utah-based company Backcountry. While the design and conceptualization take place in the U.S., manufacturing is primarily outsourced to various facilities across Asia, including China and Vietnam, to maintain competitive pricing. Since its inception, the brand's ownership has followed that of its parent company, transitioning through several major private equity acquisitions including Liberty Interactive and TSG Consumer Partners.
