HAK is a renowned Dutch brand specializes in preserved vegetables and pulses. Founded in 1952 by the Hak family in Giessen, North Brabant, the brand built its reputation on the pillars of local cultivation and high-quality glass-packaging. Today, it remains one of the most recognizable vegetable brands in Northern Europe, emphasizing sustainable agriculture and the 'On the way to PlanetProof' certification.
In terms of production, HAK maintains a strong commitment to local sourcing, with the majority of its vegetables, including many of its bean and pulse varieties, grown within a 125-kilometer radius of its factory in Giessen. The manufacturing process centers around thermal preservation in glass jars to maintain freshness without added preservatives.
Historically an independent family business, HAK experienced several ownership changes before being acquired by the Russian-founded investment firm KDV Group in 2021. Despite this international ownership, the headquarters and primary operations remain firmly rooted in the Netherlands.
