belVita is a globally recognised brand of breakfast biscuits designed to provide sustained energy release throughout the morning. The brand was originally launched in France in 1998 under the name 'Petit Déjeuner' by the French food company LU (Lefèvre-Utile). Over the years, it became a pioneer in the 'functional biscuit' category, marketing itself as a convenient and healthy breakfast alternative.
Today, the brand is owned by Mondelēz International, an American multinational confectionery, food, and beverage conglomerate. While Mondelēz is headquartered in the United States, belVita products sold in Europe and the United Kingdom are frequently manufactured in European facilities, notably in the Opavia factory located in the Czech Republic, which serves as a major hub for the brand's production.
The brand has undergone significant expansion since being acquired from Danone's biscuit division in 2007, now appearing in dozens of markets worldwide with various flavor profiles and filling types, such as the Duo Crunch range.
