Guerlain is one of the world's oldest and most prestigious fragrance, skincare, and cosmetics houses. Founded in Paris in 1828 by Pierre-François Pascal Guerlain, the brand quickly became the official perfumer for European royalty, including Napoleon III and Queen Victoria. For nearly 170 years, the house remained a family-owned business, with legendary master perfumers like Aimé, Jacques, and Jean-Paul Guerlain creating iconic scents such as Shalimar and Jicky.
Today, Guerlain is a beacon of French luxury and craftsmanship. All Guerlain fragrances and skincare products are manufactured exclusively in France, primarily at their 'La Ruche' facility in Chartres, which is dedicated to skincare and cosmetics, and their Orphin production site for perfumes. This commitment to 'Made in France' ensures the brand maintains its high standards of quality and heritage.
In 1994, the family sold the company to the French luxury conglomerate LVMH (Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton). Under LVMH's ownership, Guerlain has expanded its global footprint while remaining true to its Parisian roots and sustainable luxury practices. The brand continues to lead the high-end beauty market by blending traditional savoir-faire with modern innovation.
