Creed is a storied luxury fragrance house originally established in London in 1760 by James Henry Creed. Initially, it served as a tailoring house, providing custom-fitted garments to the English Royal Court, but it eventually pivoted toward the creation of bespoke perfumes. The house later moved its headquarters to Paris in 1854 at the request of Empress Eugénie of France, solidifying its association with high-end French craftsmanship.
Today, Creed is renowned for its ultra-premium scents, such as the iconic Aventus, which are manufactured primarily in its laboratory located in Fontainebleau, France. The production process emphasizes the use of high-quality, natural ingredients and traditional artisan techniques spanning seven generations of the Creed family.
In 2023, the brand underwent a significant ownership change when it was acquired by the French luxury conglomerate Kering from BlackRock and Javier Ferrán. This acquisition integrated Creed into the Kering Beauté division, positioning it alongside other prestigious fashion and beauty labels under a global powerhouse headquartered in Paris.
