Racke Rauchzart is a historically significant German whisky brand. The brand was originally created by the Adam Racke company in Bingen am Rhein, Germany, in the 1960s. It became famous for its distinctive smoky flavor profile, achieved by blending Scottish malt and grain whiskies specifically for the German palate.
While the raw distillates are traditionally produced and matured in Scotland (as indicated on the label 'Distilled and Matured in Scotland'), the final blending, bottling, and brand management were historically centered in Germany. Today, the brand is owned by Eggers & Franke Holding, a major German wine and spirits distributor which itself is a subsidiary of the Rotkäppchen-Mumm Sektkellereien group. This ownership structure maintains the brand's strong German commercial identity despite its Scottish liquid origins.
