The Salomon Genesis is a high-performance trail running shoe designed for technical terrain and long-distance durability. Known for its innovative Matryx® upper and All-Terrain Contagrip® outsole, it represents the evolution of Salomon's mountain sports heritage into modern athletic gear.

Salomon was founded in 1947 in Annecy, France, by François Salomon and his family. Although the brand began as a saw shop and edge manufacturer for skis, it expanded into footwear and trail running in the 1990s and 2000s. While the brand maintains its design and developmental headquarters in the French Alps (the Annecy Design Center), manufacturing for its global footwear lines is outsourced to specialized factories across Asia.

Today, Salomon is an integral part of Amer Sports. After being previously owned by Adidas and later becoming a subsidiary of the Finnish group Amer Sports, the brand is now under the umbrella of a consortium led by Anta Sports. Despite the change in ownership, the brand's identity remains rooted in French alpine performance and innovation.
