While the brand's design and engineering continue to be centered in Annecy, France, manufacturing occurs through a global supply chain. Production is primarily located in Asia—specifically in countries such as Vietnam, Cambodia, and China—to meet global demand. In terms of ownership, Salomon has transitioned from a family-owned French business to a key asset in international sporting goods portfolios. It was acquired by Adidas in 1997 before being sold to Amer Sports in 2005. Today, it remains part of Amer Sports, which is controlled by a consortium led by the Chinese sportswear giant Anta Sports.
