Tayto Treble Crunch is a popular low-calorie snack brand originating from Ireland. The brand was originally created by Joe 'Spud' Murphy in 1954, who is credited with inventing the world's first flavored potato chip. Tayto remains an iconic Irish brand, often referred to as 'Mr. Tayto' after its famous mascot.
Manufacturing primarily takes place at the Tayto production facility in Ashbourne, County Meath, Ireland. In 2006, the Irish branch of Tayto was acquired from C&C Group by Largo Foods, which was later renamed Tayto Snacks. Today, the brand is under the ultimate ownership of Intersnack Group, a major European snack food company headquartered in Germany.
