The Audi A4 is a line of compact luxury cars produced since late 1994 by the German car manufacturer Audi, a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group. The brand itself traces its origins back to the early 20th century and the founding of Auto Union, which eventually evolved into the modern Audi brand we know today following its acquisition by Volkswagen in the 1960s.

Modern production of the Audi A4 is primarily centered in Ingolstadt, Germany, which serves as the brand's global headquarters. However, to meet regional demand and navigate local trade regulations, the model is also manufactured or assembled in other key markets. This includes operations in Changchun, China (through the FAW-Volkswagen joint venture) and Aurangabad, India.
