Ballerina is one of Sweden's most iconic biscuit brands, best known for its circular shape with a nougat filling. Originally launched in 1963 by Göteborgs Kex, it was developed in Kungälv, Sweden, where it was produced for decades. The brand is famous for its distinctive visual of two different biscuit circles sandwiching a cocoa and hazelnut cream.

Historically, the manufacturing took place at the Göteborgs Kex factory in Kungälv. However, in recent years, the production was moved to Latvia as part of an industrial restructuring. Today, the brand is owned by the Orkla Group, a Norwegian conglomerate that acquired the parent company. Orkla continues to manage Ballerina as a flagship brand within its Nordic snacks and confectionery portfolio, maintaining its strong cultural connection to the Swedish market despite the shift in production location.
