Milka is one of the world's most iconic chocolate brands, easily recognized by its distinctive lilac packaging and the Simmental cow logo. The brand was originally established in 1901 by Philippe Suchard in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. The name 'Milka' is a portmanteau of the German words for milk and cocoa (Milch and Kakao).
Today, Milka is a global brand owned by Mondelēz International, a major American multinational confectionery company. While the brand has Swiss roots, most Milka products sold in Europe are manufactured in various locations across the continent, particularly in Germany (Lörrach), Austria (Bludenz), and other Eastern European facilities. The pralines shown in the image are part of their gift-oriented line, often distributed globally through international supply chains.
