Jumbo is a prestigious toy and game manufacturer with a history dating back to 1853 when Engelbert Hausemann founded a trading company in Amsterdam. The brand name 'Jumbo' was introduced in the mid-20th century, symbolized by the iconic red elephant, representing strength and durability. The company is best known for its high-quality jigsaw puzzles, including the legendary Wasgij series and Jan van Haasteren illustrations.

Historically a family-owned Dutch enterprise, Jumbo merged with the Spanish company Diset in 2007 to form Jumbodiset. In 2023, the group was acquired by Goliath Games, a global toy company founded in the Netherlands. While manufacturing historically took place in Amsterdam at the 'Nederlandse Spellenfabriek' (NSF), modern production is distributed across European facilities to maintain high standards of quality and sustainability.
