CeraVe is a renowned therapeutic skincare brand originally developed in the United States in 2005. The brand's foundational concept was created by dermatologists who sought to develop a range of skincare products designed to help repair and strengthen the skin barrier. The core technology behind the brand is the use of three essential ceramides (1, 3, and 6-II) combined with a unique MultiVesicular Emulsion (MVE) delivery system, which releases moisturizing ingredients over 24 hours.

In 2017, the brand's global reach expanded significantly when it was acquired by L'Oréal from Valeant Pharmaceuticals (now Bausch Health). Under L'Oréal’s ownership, CeraVe has transitioned from a niche pharmacies-sold brand to a global drugstore staple available in over 40 countries. This foot cream, featuring Salicylic Acid (SA) for exfoliation and Ammonium Lactate for hydration, is manufactured in various facilities across Europe and North America to meet international demand.

Today, CeraVe remains a leader in the dermo-cosmetic sector, maintained by L'Oréal's Active Cosmetics Division. While it started as an American innovation, its ultimate corporate identity is now French, reflecting L'Oréal's headquarters and status as a global powerhouse in the beauty industry.
