Aguardente 1920 is a prestigious Portuguese brandy (aguardente vínica) with a legacy deeply rooted in the wine-growing traditions of the region. It was originally launched in 1920, a date that remains central to its identity and branding, to celebrate the start of a new decade and the refinement of distillation techniques. The product is crafted using carefully selected wines that are distilled and aged in oak barrels, resulting in its characteristic smoothness and amber color.
Today, the brand is owned and managed by Caves Aliança (now Aliança Vinhos de Portugal), which is one of the most prominent winemaking companies in Portugal. This flagship brandy remains a staple in Portuguese households and spirits markets internationally. Since 2007, Aliança has been part of the Bacalhôa Group (Bacalhôa Vinhos de Portugal, S.A.), under the umbrella of Commander José Berardo's business interests, ensuring its continued production in Anadia, Portugal, and its distribution to global markets.
