Macieira Brandy

Macieira is a historic Portuguese brandy, first created in 1885 by José Guilherme Macieira. Inspired by the cognac-making traditions of France, the brand became a staple of Portuguese culture and one of the country's most iconic exports. It is traditionally produced using a selection of Portuguese grapes and aged in oak casks to achieve its distinctive smooth flavor.

While the brand was family-owned for several generations, it was eventually acquired by the multinational drinks giant Pernod Ricard. Today, Pernod Ricard manages the brand as part of its global spirits portfolio, ensuring that Macieira maintains its heritage while expanding its presence internationally. The primary production still takes place in Portugal to preserve its authentic regional identity.
