Garofalo is a historic Italian pasta brand that identifies closely with its roots in Gragnano, a town near Naples renowned for pasta production. This specific product is certified as 'Pasta di Gragnano IGP' (Indicazione Geografica Protetta), a protected geographical indication that requires the pasta to be produced within the Gragnano area using high-quality durum wheat semolina and local water, traditionally extruded through bronze dies.

Today, the brand is part of a global partnership with the Spanish multinational Ebro Foods. While the minority ownership remains with the Menna family who grew the business throughout the 20th century, the majority control rests with Ebro Foods. Despite this international ownership shift, the manufacturing strictly continues in Gragnano, Italy, to maintain its IGP certification and traditional quality standards.
