Laphroaig is a world-renowned Islay single malt Scotch whisky distillery, founded in 1815 by Donald and Alexander Johnston. Located on the south coast of the Isle of Islay, the distillery is famous for its distinctive peaty and medicinal flavour profile. The 'Quarter Cask' expression is specifically designed to double the contact with wood by using smaller casks, which accelerates the maturation process and imparts a creamy sweetness to the intense smoke. While its roots are deeply Scottish, the brand has transitioned through various ownerships over two centuries.

Today, Laphroaig is a flagship brand within the portfolio of Beam Suntory, which was formed following the acquisition of the American company Beam Inc. by the Japanese group Suntory Holdings in 2014. This merger created one of the world's largest spirits companies, headquartered in Osaka, Japan. Despite the international ownership, the whisky continues to be produced exclusively at the Laphroaig Distillery on Islay, maintaining its traditional methods and its prestigious Royal Warrant, originally granted by HRH The Prince of Wales in 1994.
