La Place is a well-known Dutch brand primarily recognized for its chain of restaurants that emphasize fresh, artisanal, and natural food and drink. The coffee beans under the La Place brand are carefully sourced and roasted, typically in the Netherlands, to maintain the brand's quality standards for its retail products.

Originally founded by the Dutch department store chain V&D (Vroom & Dreesmann) in 1987, La Place has undergone several ownership changes following the bankruptcy of its parent company. Since 2016, it has been owned by Jumbo Groep Holdings, one of the largest supermarket chains in the Netherlands. This integration allows La Place branded products, including their signature coffee beans, to be distributed widely through Jumbo supermarkets and La Place's own restaurant locations.
