MUD Jeans is a pioneering circular fashion brand founded in the Netherlands in 2012 by Bert van Son. The company is world-renowned for its innovative 'Lease A Jeans' model, which encourages consumers to return their worn-out denim for recycling rather than discarding them. This circular approach ensures that materials are constantly reused, significantly reducing the environmental footprint of garment production.
The brand's supply chain is highly transparent. While the design and headquarters are located in the Netherlands, the manufacturing primarily takes place in Tunisia at Yussettex, a factory known for its high social and environmental standards. The denim fabric itself is often produced in Spain by Tejidos Royo, utilizing a blend of GOTS-certified organic cotton and recycled cotton from old MUD jeans, as well as TENCEL materials. MUD Jeans remains an independent entity dedicated to sustainable and ethical fashion practices.
