Van Gilse Schenkstroop (pancake syrup)

Van Gilse is a historic Dutch brand established in 1882, specializing in sugar and syrup products derived from sugar beets. The brand is deeply rooted in Dutch culinary tradition, particularly famous for its 'Schenkstroop' (pouring syrup) used on pancakes and waffles.

Today, Van Gilse is part of Cosun Beet Company (formerly Suiker Unie), which is a subsidiary of Royal Cosun. Royal Cosun is a major Dutch agricultural cooperative owned by thousands of sugar beet growers. Most Van Gilse products are manufactured in the Netherlands using locally grown sugar beets, maintaining a short supply chain from field to bottle.
