Senseo is a world-renowned coffee brewing system and brand of coffee pads that revolutionized the home coffee market. The brand was launched in 2001 through a strategic partnership between the Dutch electronics company Philips and the Dutch coffee company Douwe Egberts (now part of JDE Peet's). This innovation brought the concept of single-serve coffee pods to a mass audience, primarily in Europe.

The coffee itself is managed by JDE Peet's, which is currently the ultimate owner of the Senseo coffee brand. JDE Peet's is a global coffee and tea conglomerate headquartered in the Netherlands, owned largely by the German investment firm JAB Holding Company. While the brand has deep Dutch roots, the coffee is manufactured in various facilities across Europe to meet international demand, with major production sites in the Netherlands and France. The hardware component (machines) continues to be associated with Philips, but the consumable coffee pads are a core product of the JDE Peet's portfolio.
