Duyvis is a historic Dutch brand with roots dating back to 1806, when Teun Duyvis established an oil mill in the Zaan region of the Netherlands. Initially focused on livestock feed and oils, the company eventually shifted its focus toward the consumer snack market, becoming a household name in the Netherlands for nuts, seeds, and dips. The Crack-a-Nut range is particularly famous for its double-crunch coating and savory seasonings like paprika.
In 2006, the brand was acquired by PepsiCo, the American multinational food and beverage corporation, as part of its strategy to expand its savory snack portfolio in Europe. While Duyvis remains a deeply Dutch brand in terms of its heritage and primary market presence, it is now managed under the global PepsiCo umbrella. Production primarily takes place in the Netherlands, specifically at their facility in Zaandam, ensuring the brand maintains its local quality standards while benefiting from global distribution networks.
