Johma chilled salads

Johma is the most well-known chilled salad brand in the Netherlands, famous for its range of 'oet Twente' (from Twente) spreads. The brand was founded in 1968 by Johan and Martin (whose names form the portmanteau 'Johma') in Losser, a town in the eastern part of the Netherlands. Over several decades, Johma established itself as a household name for deli-style salads such as egg, tuna, and salmon salad.

While the brand maintains a strong local identity tied to its Twente roots, its ownership has transitioned through several international hands, including periods under Heinz and Uniq. As of 2026, it remains a core part of the Signature Foods group. Manufacturing continues to be concentrated in the original region of Losser, Netherlands, ensuring the local character and production standards are maintained for the European market.
