Flitsmeister app

Flitsmeister is a leading Dutch mobile application specializing in real-time traffic information, speed camera alerts, and navigation services. Founded in 2009 by Rick Koster and Sjoerd Perfors, the app quickly became a staple for Dutch motorists by leveraging a large community of users who report road hazards, speed traps, and traffic jams in real-time.

The app was originally developed in the Netherlands and continues to be maintained and updated by teams based there. Its primary market is the Benelux region, where it has maintained a dominant position despite competition from global tech giants. The software development and data processing occurring behind the service are centered in the Dutch tech ecosystem.

In 2019, Flitsmeister was acquired by Be-Mobile, a Belgian smart mobility company. Be-Mobile itself is a subsidiary of Proximus Group, Belgium's largest telecommunications company. This ownership structure has enabled Flitsmeister to integrate more deeply into infrastructure-to-vehicle (I2V) technological solutions and expand its service offerings beyond just speed camera alerts.
