Devondale Dairy Soft Salt Reduced is a popular Australian dairy spread that combines double-churned butter with canola oil to ensure spreadability straight from the fridge. Originally established in 1950 by the Murray Goulburn Co-operative, a group of Victorian dairy farmers, the brand grew to become one of Australia's largest dairy processors.
Today, the product is manufactured in Australia using fresh Australian milk collected from local farms, primarily in Victoria and Tasmania. In 2018, following a period of financial restructuring, the Devondale brand and its associated assets were acquired by the Canadian dairy giant Saputo Inc. Despite the change in ultimate ownership, the brand maintains its deep roots in Australian agriculture, with Saputo Dairy Australia continuing to operate as one of the country's leading dairy processors and distributors.
