Brahma is one of Brazil's most iconic beverage brands, with a history dating back to 1888 when Swiss immigrant Joseph Villiger founded the Manufactura de Cerveja Brahma Villiger & Companhia in Rio de Janeiro. Over the decades, it became a cornerstone of Brazilian culture, eventually merging with its rival Antarctica in 1999 to form Ambev. Today, Brahma is recognizable worldwide for its crisp flavor and deep ties to Brazilian festivities like Carnival.
Following the formation of Ambev, the brand became part of the global portfolio of Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) in 2004. As the largest brewer in the world, AB InBev oversees the production and distribution of Brahma across multiple continents, though its primary manufacturing hub and largest market remains Brazil. The brand continues to be a flagship for Ambev in Latin America, maintaining its status through continuous innovation in packaging and brewing techniques.
