Nimbus Fluffy

Fluffy is a specialized software client developed under the Nimbus project, specifically designed as an ultra-light client for the Ethereum blockchain. It is a key implementation of the Portal Network, an initiative aimed at providing lightweight protocol access to resource-constrained devices like smartphones and laptops without requiring them to sync the entire blockchain state. By deconstructing the monolithic Ethereum protocol into separate networks for Gossip, State, and History, Fluffy allows users to contribute to network health while maintaining high levels of privacy and security.

The project originated from the Status.im ecosystem, driven by the need for a functional light client that could be embedded directly into mobile wallets. Unlike traditional full nodes that require significant storage and bandwidth, Fluffy operates with minimal hardware requirements, making it a cornerstone for the next generation of decentralized applications.
