La Chouffe is a world-renowned Belgian blond beer produced in the heart of the Ardennes. The brand was founded in the late 1970s by brothers-in-law Pierre Gobron and Christian Bauweraerts, who began brewing as a hobby in the village of Achouffe. In 1982, they officially launched Brasserie d'Achouffe, with La Chouffe as their flagship ale, instantly recognizable by its iconic gnome mascot.

Today, the beer continues to be brewed at its original location in Belgium to maintain its authentic characteristics, including its signature citrus and spicy notes. While it remains deeply rooted in its local Belgian heritage, the brand underwent a significant ownership change in 2006 when it was acquired by the Duvel Moortgat Brewery. This partnership allowed Chouffe to expand its global distribution while preserving the traditional brewing methods and quirky brand identity that made it a cult favorite among craft beer enthusiasts worldwide.
