Cailler is one of the oldest and most prestigious Swiss chocolate brands, boasting a history that dates back to the early 19th century. Founded by François-Louis Cailler in 1819 in Vevey, Switzerland, the brand is credited with being a pioneer in the chocolate industry, including the development of the world's first milk chocolate recipe through innovations shared among Swiss chocolatiers.

Since 1898, the primary manufacturing site for Cailler has been located in the village of Broc, situated in the Gruyère region of the Swiss Alps. This facility, known as Maison Cailler, continues to produce the brand's chocolate today, utilizing fresh milk from local dairy farms and high-quality cocoa beans. In terms of corporate ownership, Cailler was acquired by the Swiss multinational food and beverage giant Nestlé in 1929. Today, it remains one of Nestlé's flagship heritage brands.
