Alpro Bio Cooking Soya is a plant-based culinary cream alternative made from organic soybeans. The brand Alpro was founded in 1980 in Belgium as a subsidiary of the Vandemoortele Group, pioneering the European market for soy-based food and drinks.
Over the decades, Alpro underwent several ownership changes. It was acquired by Dean Foods in 2009 and later became part of WhiteWave Foods. In 2017, the global food giant Danone acquired WhiteWave Foods, bringing Alpro into its international portfolio as part of its 'Essential Dairy and Plant-Based' division. Today, while it maintains strong manufacturing roots in Wevelgem, Belgium, production has expanded to several facilities across Europe to meet growing demand for sustainable dairy alternatives.
