Brinta is an iconic Dutch breakfast brand, an acronym for 'Breakfast Instant Tarwe' (Breakfast Instant Wheat). It was first launched in 1944 during the latter stages of World War II by the company Schouten in Giessen, North Brabant. The product gained immense popularity in the Netherlands as a nutritious and hearty meal, traditionally prepared by mixing the whole grain wheat flakes with warm milk.
Historically, the brand was part of Honig and later passed through several multinational hands. After a series of acquisitions involving H.J. Heinz, it is currently owned by The Kraft Heinz Company. Despite its global ownership, Brinta remains deeply rooted in Dutch food culture and continues to be primarily manufactured within the Netherlands to serve its core Benelux market.
